Canopy is a planned community located on the east side of Tallahassee, Florida. It is a part of the Canopy Community Development District which is a local, special-purpose government entity created as an alternative method of planning, acquiring, operating, and maintaining communitywide improvements in planned communities. Canopy Unit 1 included the roads, water, sewer, and storm infrastructure for a 110-unit single-family residential subdivision with three commercial developments and one multi-family residential development. This project also included the construction of the large stormwater management facility known as Pond 2 to serve multiple phases of the Canopy development.
